Neighbors, relatives and friends came to visit you, sitting in the dark pants (skirt) on the sofa, where just laid a nice kitty - and underlining layer of cat’s hair is adorned their clothing.

Dry skin, itching, hair loss and cat dandruff are often found on cats. Some of the famous slogans commercials completely relevant to our four-legged friends: «Your hair needs special care», «Fatty roots - Dry ends? », etc.

Many people believe that the keeping a cat or a dog in the house – it’s a lot of hair in all accessible and inaccessible places. The Doctors from Veterinary Clinics have a different opinion. Thick, smooth and shiny hair of the animal, (if you are not the owner of the bare Chinese dogs or cats of breed the Don Sphinx) shows a good pet health. Conversely, if your dog itching every 10 minutes, and its beautiful coat looks like a beaten by moth, you should thing about possible disease.

The common reasons for the enhanced loss of wool, as well as a miraculous remedy against this scourge is not exists. Nevertheless, it is useful to know some general information about the problems of skin and hair in your pets. Most breeds of dogs sheding happens 2 times a year – in spring and autumn, some species change wool comes as the cats, all year round, and there are rocks that have little or no shed. Combing the hair with special combs 1 time per week is usually enough for a dog or cat with medium length hair. More intense comb-out required for seasonal sheding and long-haired animals.

One of the most common causes of enhanced deposition and reduce the quality of the wool is an unbalanced feeding. Many animal owners understand the problem as «beriberi», and are beginning to increasingly feed their pet with various vitamins, often achieving the opposite results.

Balanced feeding involves the content of the stern all the necessary body substances in optimal quantities. Good quality wool in the advertising of feed for dogs and cats - not an advertising gimmick, but a valid result.

Of course, the food is very different between the both quality and price. Advance forage are the most high quality and expensive. Forage Class «premium» (Pedigree, Whiskas) took the middle ground on price and quality. But even cheap full ration feed economy class (Kitekat, Chappi) from the point of veterinarian view, is preferable for a dog or cat, than the home food.

A special place in the list of skin diseases in dogs and cats took the manifestations of allergic reactions. Allergic dermatitis may be caused by various factors: insect bites, household chemicals, food components and more. Almost always, this disease is accompanied by itch. The correct diagnosis of allergic reactions requires special study.

This is very important because some medications used in the treatment of allergic dermatitis are contraindicated with other skin diseases. Parasites skin is also widely distributed among domestic animals, some species of subcutaneous mites and dangerous to humans.

Microscopy or ringworm - fungal skin disease of cats, dogs and humans is linked, perhaps, with the largest number of rumors and speculation. This disease does not frighten children without reason: children are really more susceptible to microscopy than adults. Competent treatment of modern methods gives almost 100% positive result.

Some share of skin problems account for hormonal diseases, hereditary and immunological nature. Sometimes the skin and wool affected by the diseases of internal organs, although the relationship of liver disease with deterioration of the skin and hear in dogs and cats has no serious reason.

My neighbor has a big fat ugly looking cat who has got dandruff. She is a miser and wouldn’t go to see the vet or buy medical stuff. So I thought of telling her about home made remedies for cat dandruff. At least that ways she wouldn’t have to spend money.

The problem with some of the owners could be not grooming the pet. If your pet is overweight and has oily skin then dandruff is an obvious thing. Try to see what are you feeding your pet. Half of the problem could be taken care of by buying the right pet food. Remember that your cat isn’t a child and cannot eat everything which your baby can eat. So don’t try to offer those pastries which your little ones long for to your pets.

Its not just the food but also water which all living things need. Your cat needs to have a lot of water as well. If she is one of the creatures who hates water then make sure you take extra care to ensure that she has plenty of it. Isn’t that an inexpensive home cure of a problem. Sometimes what happens is that, the skin gets extremely dry after you have had your pet in the water for long. Its like having the skin become devoid of its oil. It can happen to humans as well if you soak you legs in hot water for a long time.

Also make sure that you rinse all the shampoo from your pet. A good way to make whether you have left shampoo would be to try and smell your cat. And then you have to use a pet comb to groom your pet up. Use a special flea comb. Whatever you do make sure you don’t use your human shampoo. A cheaper way would be to try to give your cat a good brushing.

During the winter seasons and in cold places your pets would like to hang around close to warmer areas and in particular the fire places. So a good humidifier would help. What happens is that due to change in the weather your cat begins to flake. A good thing would be to add some fish oil to her diet. If nothing helps then please go see a vet.

One most discussed topic in all cat forums by cat owners is about cat dandruff. There are some easy and inexpensive home remedies available for cat dandruff to help the desperate cat owners. Every cat owner can apply these without making an expensive vet visit but just by observing the symptoms and the surroundings.

Most of the cat dandruff is due these simple factors. The fist one is the age of the cat and its weight. Aged and overweight cats develop dandruff on their tail or rump. If your cat has recently became overweight and has developed dandruff then it is because of the fact that she is unable to clean some areas of the body by herself. The same problem exists for aged cats because they lose mobility to groom themselves effectively. In such cases the remedy is to give good brushing occasionally and to take the cat for grooming every two months at the minimum.

If your cat loves being bathed then a good idea is to give shampoo bath every couple of months. Do not use human shampoos as they may further dry up the skin and aggravate the conditions. So always use a cat shampoo and make sure that the shampoo remains are washed off completely to avoid any worsening of the dandruff.

The second reason that cats develop dandruff is the climate. Most cats develop dandruff during winter because of the cold and dry weather. Moreover cats just laze around in warm places like sofas and fireplace which increases the dryness of the skin and cause dandruff. So make the cat move away from her cozy places and make it run around for a while. Using a humidifier in the room is a good idea for the cat and also for yourselves to avoid dry skin during winter season The third reason is the diet.

Cats don’t like to drink water as such even when they are thirsty. Even if you have provided water in the room they may not be drinking it. The only way to meet the cats water requirement is through the water content of the food they take. Most of the canned food does not contain enough moisture content thus creating dry skin and flakes. Changing the canned food and adding some fish oil to the diet will help to reduce the dandruff.

You’re familiar with Head and Shoulders, but did you know that your pet cat can get dandruff, too? If you have a feline that’s sporting uncomfortable white flakes, you’ll want to have safe, non-toxic remedies available to care for your furry friend. Cat dandruff is easy to determine due to the amount of fur they have on their bodies.

Dandruff is literally dead skin caused in cats by an adverse reaction to fleas, sunburn, dry air, diet, or your pretty new carpet. If you look like you could be in a Lubriderm commercial, chances are your cat is going through the same thing. An easy home cure for your dry air (and resulting cat dandruff) is investing in a humidifier. Another natural solution is simply keeping tabs on your kitty’s sun exposure. Don’t allow Fluffy out in the UV rays when the sun is the hottest, from approximately 10am to 4pm. Better yet, make them an indoors-only cat (it’s a myth that cats can’t enjoy themselves as much this way).

You could modify your animal companion’s food supply by incorporating yeast, garlic, salmon or cod oil, or raw egg yolks when trying to prevent dandruff. Assuming your cat isn’t like Garfield, this should go over okay. Completely switching your cat over to only natural, top-quality canned eats could have a noticeable effect on the dandruff battle as well. You could also try a cat multi-vitamin. If you’ve spotted bug bites on your kitty, a shampoo of baking soda can be used to lessen dandruff caused by nibbles.

Mouthwash like Listerine is a surprising source that can also be used. Once-a-month washings with an appropriate shampoo can keep pet dandruff at bay overall. A possibly overlooked contributor to your cat’s dandruff is their grooming skills. If your cat is overweight or has hard-to-reach areas, their grooming may not be the best and is therefore causing dandruff. You can help them out with a good-quality brush on occasion. If you cat’s condition doesn’t improve, don’t hesitate to see a vet – your cat’s condition could be serious. They’ll be able to assist you further if these do-it-yourself approaches aren’t working.

These flakes, or dander can cause allergies in humans. This dandruff can occur in a majority of cats especially with certain species.

The age and wright of your cat can cause him/her to have dandruff. If your cat is older they might not have the range of motion to reach certain parts of their body while grooming. The same is true with an overweight cat who may not be able to reach the spot by their tail. While there is not much you can do to fix the age of your cat besides trying a new diet to help with joint movement, there is something you can do about your cat’s weight. A less fatty food can be fed to your cat or he/she can be fed less frequently. These things may decrease your cat’s weight, allow them greater range of motion and therefore when grooming is occurring your cat can reach their entire body lessening their dandruff.

Dry skin in cats can be caused by a few things. If it is winter it is likely that your cat has seasonal dry skin, caused by the dry air, just as you may have. This can be solved by getting a dehumidifier or trying to keep your cat away from your heating vents as this can cause dry skin. If your cat does not drink a lot of water then it is possible that he/she has dry skin from lack of water. This can be fixed by giving your cat wet food from which their body will absorb the liquid. A diet with food rich in omega -3, a.k.a. fish oil, can also be used to combat cat dandruff. And always remember that a good brushing can always help to sweep the oils throughout the fur of your pet. Pet dander is something that can be quite annoying while trying to clean or keep a tidy house. There are however, remedies and for your cat’s sake, and yours it is vital that you try to stop the dandruff.
